What is a lanyard?
A lanyard is a length of rope or fabric worn around the neck attached to a name tag or photo ID badge. When printed, it can be used as a promotional tool.
What choices of fabrics are available?
Lanyards are available in a wide range of fabrics, including cord, silk, webbing, polyester, silicone, cotton, bamboo, PET, nylon etc.
What does "full colour lanyard printing" printing mean?
Full colour lanyard printing is achieved by using heat transfer sublimation. High quality photographic detail is achieved, but absolute colour accuracy cannot be guaranteed.
What type of graphic file is needed for my artwork?
For the best results we require a vector file. The resolution should be at least 300 dpi. Vector files are created in programs such as Corel Draw and Adobe Illustrator. All text should be converted to
outlines as we may not have the fonts you've used.
What is your smallest lanyard order quantity?
The smallest lanyard order we accept is 20 unprinted and 50 custom printed. Woven lanyards are available for a minimum order of 500 units.
Can I have my choice of attachments?
Yes. You can choose the fittings you want on your lanyard, and you can choose more than one fitting. Available attachments include swivel hook, alligator clip, carabiner, mobile phone attachment and key ring holder. Attachments can also be combined with a break-away safety feature.
How quick can I get lanyards?
Unprinted stock lanyards are generally dispatched on the same day. Our standard dispatch time for 1000 lanyards or less printed in Australia is 10 working days. Overseas orders take approximately 2.5 weeks subject to quantity. Rush Orders can be arranged for a fee.
Is there a lanyard artwork/setup fee?
Yes, but orders over 500 units are free of artwork charges.
Can you print my name tags for me, and how long does it take?
Yes, we can you print your name tags for you. For quantities up to 1,000 we need 24 hours to produce. For larger quantities, 48 hours is required.
Can I buy the holders and print my own?
If you want to save money, you can buy the holders and inserts and print your own.
Can you print the graphics and I print the names?
Another option is for us to print the colour graphics and you print the delegate names.
What type of graphic and data files do you accept?
The graphic files we need for your printed logos should be at least 300 dpi, and no smaller than the final print size. For example, a 300 dpi file that has a pixel height of 600 pixels will print 2 inches (50mm) high. We accept JPG, TIF, BMP, AI, EPS or PNG files in IBM format - we cannot accept Macintosh files. The data files we need can be Microsoft Excel, Word or Text files.
What is the minimum order quantity?
Our minimum name tag order quantity is 20 tags. Of course, we will print smaller quantities when we print late delegate registrations for you.
Is there a name tag artwork/setup fee?
We charge $50.00 setup + GST for artwork/setup of name tag jobs.
What lead time is required for un-printed satchels?
Unprinted satchels are delivered within 7 days, stock permitting.
What lead time is required for printed satchels?
Printed satchels are delivered within 3 weeks, stock permitting.
What is the minimum order?

Types of Printing
What does "screen printed" mean?
Screen-printed lanyards are printed one colour at a time. Multiple colours can be printed but are best restricted to 3 colours. Full colour is unavailable. Screen printing works best when the print colour and the fabric colour have a high contrast; for example black on white.
What does "woven" mean?
A woven lanyard is when the graphic design is woven (using fabric) into the base fabric. It's similar to embroidery.
What does "sublimation" mean?
Sublimation creates full colour photographic quality prints and is printed digitally using specific inks designed for sublimation printers onto special coated sublimation paper.
Under high heat (about 220˚C) and intense pressure from an industrial heat press for 1-2 minutes, the printed paper is transferred into (not ONTO) the polyester lanyard fabric. In technical terms, what happens is the top layer of the polyester fabric converts into a gas, allowing the inks to penetrate into the fabric. Once the heat and pressure is released, the gas is converted back to a solid fabric with the print permanently embedded within the fabric. It won't fade, peel, or crack. In fact it feels like it's part of the garment.
Low volume orders are best dealt with using sublimation. Orders of 50 printed lanyards are usually sublimated.
Because the process is digital, we keep your artwork on file so repeat orders are easy.
What does "Pad Printing" mean?
Pad printing deposits a design onto a three-dimensional object using a silicone pad that lifts the ink off of a printing plate. It works much like a stamp.
What does "digital transfer" mean?
This involves taking a high-resolution image and printing the image onto quality transfer paper. We can print images in most formats including PDF, EPS, PSD, PNG and JPG but the quality of the image produced is directly related to the quality of the image supplied, so it is important to supply a high-resolution image. Once the image is on the transfer paper it is then taken and applied using a heat press to the item.
There are two different types of images used by graph design programs: raster images (sometimes called "bitmap") and vector-based images.
A raster image is made of thousands of little dots, or pixels. A vector-based image does not render on a pixel-by-pixel basis. Each vector point has information in it telling your computer how to connect each point with straight or curved lines, and with what colour to fill in the closed shape. If you resize a vector-based image, it loses little or no detail. Vector based images are also really small file sizes perfect for email.
For the best results lanyards, bags and promotional products we require a vector file. The resolution should be at least 300 dpi.
Name tags require graphic files at least 300 dpi, and no smaller than the final print size. For example, a 300 dpi file that has a pixel height of 600 pixels will print 2 inches (50mm) high. We accept JPG, TIF, BMP, AI or EPS files in IBM format - we cannot accept MacIntosh files. The data files we need can be Microsoft Excel, Word or Text files. Please note additional fees will occur if you require us to recreate your artwork to ensure good quality production.
Can I return a purchase?
Except in the case of manufacturing defects, we are unable to accept returns on custom order items. Please check your order for defects immediately upon arrival, as there are absolutely no returns after 30 days from receipt of order. In the event that you receive defective merchandise, please contact us immediately and we will work to resolve the issue.
Orders with imprint errors or incorrect products will be reproduced free of charge, unless the defect is a consequence of poor quality artwork and we've advised you before production of the artwork issue. We will also arrange for pickup of the misprinted items at no cost to you.
A full credit or refund will not be given on goods ordered in excess of your requirements. If you have ordered the wrong thing we will give you a refund provided the goods are still in their original packaging, undamaged and returned to us within 14 days of the invoice date. We reserve the right to charge a 10% restocking fee. Freight charged on the outgoing order will not be refunded.
If returning goods under any condition you must contact our office to obtain a goods return credit request, which must accompany the goods being returned.
Can I cancel an order?
After your order and artwork has been approved, we submit it to the factory for printing. We understand that occasionally a situation may arise where a change needs to be made after art approval. Should this occur, we will do our best to notify the factory of the change before production begins. You may incur setup fees if your merchandise has entered the production process. Unfortunately, we are unable to cancel or change your order once production has begun. Should you no longer require your ordered materials after production, you will be liable for the full cost of the items.
Will my price be the same as price online?
While we make every effort to keep our site up to date, occasionally market conditions may cause product pricing to change. All pricing is subject to change at any time, and we reserve the right to make such changes as necessary. In the event that the price on an item you order differs from the currently published web price, we will notify you of the updated pricing or assist you with finding a comparable product to better meet your budgetary needs.
What will my product look like?
We strive to provide clear, accurate product images to assist you with your purchase. Please be aware that computer monitors display colour differently, and the photos and colour swatches shown are not in any way guaranteed to precisely replicate the actual product. It is always advisable to evaluate an actual sample of the product when possible.
In the case of Taurus Sublimated Lanyards manufactured in our factory in Melbourne, we supply physical samples for you to approve before production commences.
Can we colour match?
If you would like an exact colour match please include desired colours in PMS form rather than CMYK or RGB. All artwork without exact PMS colours will be matched as closely as possible but exact colour matching is not guaranteed. Extra charges may apply for PMS colour matching. If no specific colours are specified stock ink colours will be used at no additional charge.

What are the payment options?
If you have a credit account, we supply on 30 day payment terms. You may also pay by American Express, Visa, MasterCard, or EFTPOS. American Express incurs a 3% surcharge.
